Long time no talk. I’ve been a bit of a girl on the go lately, finally back on the concert grind! I saw Fontaines DC four times last month in Louisville, Columbus, Indianapolis, and DC. All shows were amazing (because I got to hear Favourite at all of them, and today is Favourite’s birthday!!).
One thing I have been dying to talk about is the Ski Aggu concert. No one I know is really interested in him so I have a lot to get off my chest about this show. I love his music, but I would not say it particularly means anything to me since I don’t understand much of it, so I was totally shocked when I was overcome with emotion at his concert. It was his first ever US tour and I think it just never occurred to me that I would ever get to see him live. You just don’t think that a German rapper would come to America and that really struck me in that moment when he was rapping things I did not understand.
Ski Aggu was the first time in a long time I had been to such a small show as well. It was a 250 capacity venue and the crowd was WILD the entire time. Ikkimel opened and the crowd seemed to be familiar with all of her material as well. I know and like a few of her songs, like Unisexklo and Mütter, but I am mostly just familiar with her works with Ski Aggu.
Deutschland was the song that first piqued my interest in Ski Aggu. I would argue that it is an almost perfect song. It’s just too much fun to resist and I wait for the day I hear it at the club. Deutschland was a gateway drug, and I haven’t stopped since. Now, I even swallow my pride and listen to his song Maximum Rizz without putting my streaming history on private!
In BREAKING NEWS, as of yesterday, I am seeing Lady Gaga next month. I was presented with an opportunity I could not say no to, so I will be going for a weekend in Vegas to attend the Mayhem Ball. It is so hard to believe that in just a month I will be hearing Scheiße live and in person….it’s almost overwhelming to think about. My brain just turned off.
Update on my listening habits:
On Repeat top 5:

Money is Everything by Addison Rae
Gnarly by KATSEYE

Addison’s album has been taking up a lot of space in my noggin lately…this morning I tried (and failed) to get tickets for the Addison tour, but trust and believe I will be there. This album will more than likely be on my top 10 list this year, and I have been team Addison since Obsessed came out.
As always, let me know what you have been listening to lately! Whether it is good or bad <3
